Coros Apex Watch Review

Are you looking for a watch that is easy to use and cost effective? Is battery life a major consideration? Do you need something that has all the necessary components a runner would want?

The Coros Apex is the watch for you then. After a long search for a watch, I was looking for something with a long battery life. Something that would say last for a 100 mile ultra marathon. Not that I am training for one at this point, but never say never right?

Watch Features

As an Apple Watch fan for the last several years, my first consideration was battery life. Apple Watches are great, but the battery life is not it’s greatest feature. Plus I really wanted more of a true runner’s watch. As I transition to trail running, I needing something that has more features. Some watches are just too big, but this one is the perfect size. After an exhausting search and reviewing several watches, I chose the Coros Apex.

Ease of Use

Although the watch did not come with a how to manual, it is very easy to figure out even for my sub par tech savvy skills. There is a dial and a button on the watch, so it is pretty easy to figure out. The dial is very easy to move between features. The GPS signal and heart rate are acquired quickly, so you are off to run in no time.

There are several types of activity to choose from trail run to open water swim. Each with individual settings, that you are able to modify in the Coros app. Simply download the Coros app and all of your activity is recorded on your phone.

Accuracy

The Coros Apex is spot on. I have worn both my Coros Apex and my Apple watch and both had the exact same distance. Every run has been accurate even deep in the woods on my favorite trails.

Additional Watch Features

Download the Coros App and it will give you a complete overview of your training that includes: VO2 max, recovery advisor, threshold pace, last-7 days training load, personal fitness index and much more.

The Coros Apex watch is waterproof with triathalon and multisport training options. Other features include; heart rate monitor, barometric altimeter, interval training accelerometer, compass, swimming heart rate, sleep monitoring, phone notifications,  intelligent stride algorithm, 3rd Party Integration (Strava, TrainingPeaks, etc) just to name a few. One of the biggest selling points is the price!

Overall Review

The Coros Apex is an excellent watch. It is extremely accurate with one of the best batteries you can find. Hopefully someday it will guide me to the finish line of a 100 miler!
